Read books about seasonal farming, learn about different countries and their cuisine, make recipes, go on field trips, design a chicken coop and more! 

 

This unit is 6 weeks long and teaches kids about global food and farming. Schedule is set up with 2 days a week but you could also go at your own pace. One day covers seasonal farm rhythm , the second day covers global food cuisine and geography. 

Use beautiful and educational books for Charlotte Mason inspired learning. After reading the farm books there is a 'discuss, design, make and draw' section. 

Kids will do fun things like:

  • Design a chicken coop or corn maze

  • Enjoy drawing and notebooking the anatomy of animals

  • Making things like butter or bread for some old fashioned skills

  • Field trip suggestions like u-pick farms, farmers markets and more

  • Learn about their own heritage and foods connected with their family

 

Students will also enjoy learning about geography and trying new recipes after reading your global cuisine food books.

This unit is a gentle introduction to the world of food and encourages notebooking and copywork after reading the books together for Charlotte Mason inspired learning.
